Rolling Rally 2025

___________________________________________________________________________

Monday 10th March saw 4 vans and  8 travellers arrive in Corrimal at the Corrimal Beach caravan park.  Consistent rain for the first day meant not much sight seeing (perhaps some shopping) . Day two happy hour included a trivia competition and with close run scores, Arthur and Kerry took the prize.
Day three we all we went to the Nan Tien Temple which we all explored  after morning tea in the cafe. It was very calm and peaceful. (Much needed for some after wrong turns and flat tyres)
Our group meal was at the RSL club with a shuttle bus picking us up and delivered us home. Sadly no one won a raffle prize.
Berry Showgrounds is the next stop where the weather produced the last hurrah of hot weather.  Shady afternoon happy hours closed ours days of exploring the area with the Treat Factory a popular stop. Our night out was at the Berry Bowling Club for a delicious Chinese meal with Bob and Maureen winning two raffle meat trays (Bob bought the last tickets - could be a tip there)
Milton Showgrounds is our home for the next three nights and after a very warm set up we enjoyed some cooler days ( and nights). Beautiful area to explore and some tried their hand at fishing with not a fish for dinner. A very enjoyable happy hour melded into our  camp meal, a bbq with the Jolly’s providing the meat and everyone bringing a dish to share.
Batemans Bay is our next destination. Our arrival involved a group discussion about which site was which and which direction it faced. Day two is a celebration day for Bob’s significant birthday. We spent the morning exploring Mogo zoo with interesting talks by the keepers adding to the experience. Kerrie and Arthur enrolled Bundy in doggy day care for the day so that he wasn’t left alone. ( he was a very tired dog tonight.) Our evening meal, was at the soldiers club, a great end to the day.
A cooler overcast last day based at Batemans Bay, was a great day to explore the area and we all shared our experience at the end of the day.
Our last happy hour before the group split, some heading home and some to Canberra, was spent sheltered under Arthur and Kerrie’s awning - a fun relaxed time before the cold and rain sent us inside  ( perhaps Don’s suggestion of the laundry for happy hour could have been a better option)
A huge thank you to our president Pam for all her hard work with bookings and providing a detailed list of local attractions for each stop.

Two vans carried on up the range to Canberra. The Canberra Exhibition Ground is a good place to stay even though there were 3 major events on during the weekend, the 1st Round of the Australian Rally Championships, Rock Swap (gem stones etc) and a Women’s Health Exhibition. Visits were to the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex at Tidbinbilla, the War Memorial, and general touring around.
The rally was a great trip and a pity more members did not go on this venture.
